Companies want people to “like” the content that they post on Facebook.
This can greatly increase awareness of a brand and boost it’s reputation in a positive way.
Why not create a QR code that points to your Facebook “Like” button?

LinkedIn, a business oriented social media site, is developing a new mobile service called PingTags – currently in Beta. You sign up via LinkedIn (www.pingtags.com) and it creates a QR code for you like the example on the left which links to your “PingTag” profile. The PingTag is simply a mobile enabled page with all your relevant LinkedIn information but it comes with some nice tracking features. Putting a LinkedIn QR code on your business card is a great idea – and you don’t have to change the QR code if you change jobs or contact information, just update your LinkedIn entry. |
ExtraMilePrinting.com now offers clients the ability to generate and include QR (Quick Response) codes on their business cards, postcards and other marketing material.
If you handed out business cards with a minimum amount of information — but with a QR code pointing to your profile on your company’s website — all the updated information would be available.

QR codes don’t have to point to a Website. Instead, they can include data that pops up on your phone. Some QR codes contain the same information as the business card — name, title, phone number, etc. — configured in the vCard data exchange format that can be integrated into phone and computer address books compatible with vCard. |
